RGAAF PAVING REPAIR

Solis Constructors, Inc. began constructing this TxDOT aviation project reconstructed Runway 13/31 and Runway 17/35, along with five taxiways at the City of Dallas’s Dallas Executive Airport. The scope of work for Phase I and II included concrete demolition, drainage, earthwork, concrete paving, lighting and required striping. Phase I reconstructed the intersection of Runways 13/31 and 17/35 with a concrete paving section, realigned and constructed a concrete paving section for Taxiway 3A and reconstructed Taxiway D. Phase I included 34,685 SY 10” concrete paving and 15,317 SY 8” concrete paving. Phase II scope consisted of full-depth reconstruction of Runway 13/31 west of the Runway 17/35 intersection to the Runway 13 end with a concrete paving section, re-grading the Runway Safety Area and installation of new drainage structures, full depth reconstruction of Taxiway B2 and demolition of Taxiways B1 and B3. Phase II included 49,088 SY 10” concrete paving and 20,875 SY 8” concrete paving.



SOF C-130 Washrack Hangar

The SOF C-130 Washrack Hangar is a 30,000 square foot indoor washrack facility for periodic scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for military aircraft up to the size of a Lockheed C-130 Hercules.  The project also included 35,000 square feet of concrete airfield apron pavement and unique systems, including foam guns, high pressure washrack detergent system, oil/water separator, boiler for aircraft washing, compressed air and an overhead monorail.




CH-47 Aircraft Maintenance Hangar

This award winning project included the design and phased construction of a 51,000 SF US Army CH-47 Aircraft Maintenance building with 500,000 SF of concrete airfield pavement, as well as hazardous material abatement (Lead, Asbestos and PCB) and demolition of numerous off site buildings and structures. The hangar bay area can house four CH-47 Chinook helicopters, while the adjacent core area includes supporting shop, supply and administration spaces. The facility includes classrooms, training areas, conference/meeting areas, equipment and vehicle maintenance areas, rotary wing aircraft maintenance bays, administrative offices, administrative support areas/offices, maintenance command administrative offices, equipment and tool storage areas, equipment and tool distribution center, arms storage areas, outdoor break areas, and shop areas. The project achieved Certifiable LEED Silver status.



Leander Park & Ride

Solis successfully completed construction of an AIA award winning Park and Ride Facility on a 13.54 acre site at the San Gabriel subdivision in Leander. Project included seven (7) bus bays with architectural tensile membrane passenger shelter structures, a parking lot with 638 new parking spaces, a terminal building, a clock tower, a kiss and ride drop off area, a plaza, and a mini park with a pond and jogging trail.
